You know those days when you sit down to read a devotional and you just KNOW it was written for you?! Well that was me yesterday morning. Ella slept in until 7am {yes, that is sleeping in at this household}, so I had about 45 minutes to myself before the distractions of the day began.


I opened up my Jesus Calling devotional and just had to smile as I began to read. These are the two sentences that really stuck out to me:
 
You are only human, and the swirl of events going on all around you will sometimes feel overwhelming. Rather than scolding yourself for your humanness, remind yourself that I am both with you and within you.
 
Powerful! Thank goodness for His hope, mercy and grace. I was just thinking the other night how I have longed to be a mom my whole life and I only get one shot at it. It is SO easy for me to beat myself up over this and that, wish I had done things differently, try and figure out how to balance life, work, personal time, time for Josh and I as well as being the best mom I can possibly be. I don't think know it's something I'll never have perfected, but I'm so thankful that yes, I am only human! And then these sentences followed:
 
Slow down your pace of living for a time. Quiet your mind in My Presence. Then you will be able to hear Me bestowing the resurrection blessing: Peace be with you.
 
Slow down? Quiet my mind? I'm so guilty of this! For me, this has become even more difficult with social media. It's just so easy, so convenient. Right there is when I knew God was telling me, "Jen, come to me, rest in My Presence, I have ALL the answers and I only give you THE very best."
 
I pray this will speak to someone like it did to me! Remember, you are only human! Slow down and rest in His Presence today!

I Love this!! I behind on my Jesus Calling devotional, but so many times today I read different scripture and devotionals from my bible study, articles posted, and now on your blog that are telling me to slow down and remember to take my time with God. thanks so much for this post!
